Policies and procedures

Registration Fee

A $10.00 registration fee per family is required upon registration to reserve class space. This fee is non-refundable. A registration is not considered complete and class space is not reserved until this fee is paid. Students registering for our school term are assumed to be registering for the entire school year (September -May).

Dropping a class

If you wish to drop a class at anytime, you must fill out and submit a "Drop Class Form", available at the front desk or as a download. You are responsible for all class fees until we receive a drop slip.

Payment

Session payments are due at the first class of each session. An e-statement is sent to your account email the week prior to each new session. You will also receive an e-newsletter at the start of each session.

We accept payments online, by logging into your MSCD account (www.mscdance.com), as well as check or cash payments. A payment drop slot is located in our lobby for those who wish to make a payment when there is no one available at the front desk.

Payments may also be sent in the mail to:

Main Street Conservatory of Dance
1008 South Cedar Avenue
Marshfield, WI 54449

Accepted forms of payment include:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Money Order
  • Visa or Mastercard

There will be a $5.00 late fee charge, per session, for tuition payments not received by the third week of class.

Classroom Rules
  • No gum chewing
  • No food or drink allowed in the studios (water bottles are ok)
  • No street shoes allowed in the studio
  • Students with injuries or illness should notify the instructor before class
  • Students who are tardy should enter class as quietly as possible, trying not to interupt class
  • Additional class rules may be provided by the instructors on the first day of class
Attendance

Attendance is taken at each class. Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, and the studio cannot jeopardize its resposibilities to the rest of the class for one student.

Please make every effort to have your child at every class. Make-up classes are allowed for some classes. Please check with our office for make-up options. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. If your child cannot be at his/her class, we ask that you notify the dance studio so as to keep the instructor informed.

Insurance

Main Street Conservatory of Dance does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.

Class Observation

Parents are welcome to observe class through the viewing windows. No one is allowed to observe class from inside the studio, as this is a distraction to the class. Those observing from the lobby are asked to keep noise to a minimum because this too becomes a distraction to the class.

Parents with young children are asked to always keep children near them, since running, yelling and playing in the hallways is very disruptive to class.

Parents are not required to stay and observe class but are reminded to pick up their children immediately following the end of their class. MSCD is not responsible for students before or after their class time. The "Late Pick up Fee", for students not picked up after the last class is $5.00 every 15 minutes after the class is over. Any student left more than 30 minutes past closing, without contact, will be turned over to the Marshfield Police Department.

Holidays

Holiday dates and other days off are posted in our school schedule each year, with reminders printed in session newsletters. Please refer to these documents for that information.

Bad Weather

Cancelled classes due to inclement weather will be announced on our voicemail message, our Facebook page, and will be posted on the studio's front door. If classes are not cancelled, but you aren't comfortable travelling in poor weather, please consider joining class via Zoom. Zoom login information can be found in your online account, under the student's specific class. For assistance logging into Zoom, please call our office.

Teacher Meetings

Because our instructors teach one class right after another, they are not usually available to speak with parents during class hours. If you wish to meet with an instructor about your child, it is best if you call the studio to make an appointment or send an email request.
